From the original advertisement:
* EMPIRE Noise and Field intensity
meters are still further increased in flexibility and range with the introduction of
the new NF-112 T-6 plug-in tuning head
for 15-21 gc.
* Modular tuning heads are quickly interchangeable and permit limited frequency requirements to be economically
satisfied by the purchase of individual
heads as required. These versatile plugins assist in making the NF-112 compact,
rugged, and readily transportable for
field and van as well as in-plant requirements. Stringent military and commercial
test requirements can be met.
* NF-112 sensitivity is as great as -104
dbm (1.4 p'v) at 1 gc to -90 dbm (7 yv) at
15 gc (50 u ). with two bandwidths (600 kc
and 3 mc, AFC for both) for rapid identification of narrow and broadband signals. Calibration is quickly and accurately
performed anywhere with the built-in impulse generator. Stability is assured by
feedback circuitry and well-regulated
power supplies. High shielding effectiveness (better than 96 db, with optional
enclosure for even more) permits accurate readings even in high ambient fields.
X-Y plotting and automatic variable
speed scanning are also available.
* With the NF-315 (20 cps-15 kc), NF-105
(14 kc-1 gc) and NF-112, the entire frequency range of 20 cps to 21 gc is covered with just three instruments.
