The AL-300 stereo cassette deck is Alpage's top of the line model. Soon after its debut, audio magazines such as SON and Hi-Fi Video started putting it to the test. It was tested against the best 3-head cassette tape decks on the market. And it invariably came out tops!
The deck has a 3-head design with independent recording and playback heads. This allows ideal gapping - a wide gap for recording and a narrow gap for playback. The erase head on the consists of a highly magnetic Sendust chip mounted on a ferrite core. This head is very effective in erasing metal tapes. Also, by just flicking a switch, its possible to compare instantly the sound quality of the tape with the signal source.
The AL-300 is designed for use with metal tape and the tape selector determines the best bias and equalization levels for metal as well as Cr, FeCr and Normal tapes.
