History of Sony recorders:

1950

Sony makes his first Japanese tape recorder in the late 50s The Type G had a tape speed of 19cm per second. With the exclusive Sony small-hub reel, the recorder accepted tapes up to 10 inch. The Type G earns his name because the unit was delivered to government agencies.

1961

The TC-777 "Three seven" is the first Japanese amp transistor recorder Because it's three sevens in a row, it was called the "Three Seven"
